Prof. Shen Hui obtained his Doctor Degree in The Dresden University of Technology. He is now the tutor of doctor and the superintendent of Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISES) and Institute of Power Electronics & Control Technology, Sun Yat-sen University. His research field focuses on Energy conversion and Photovoltaic physics, and mainly study on poly-silicon thin-film solar cell, dye- sensitized solar cell, selective solar spectrum absorption coating, nano-material and photovoltaic application. He has taken charge of more than twenty state or provincial projects such as "The 10th Five Years Key Programs", "863 Program", and "National Foundation Project". Also establishing the united lab-base with several companies, ISES is now cooperating with many famous international research organizations such as Institute for Solar Energy Systems in Fraunhofer, Germany, where two graduate students of ISES are doing cooperated research for nearly one year. On the aspect of lecturing, Prof. Shen is in charge of courses such as "Solar Cell Technics", "Condensed State Physics Experimental Method" and "Analysis and measurement for Material".

-Worked on national projects, such as the 7th Five Years and 8th Five Years Programs for Science and Technology Development of China, the National High Technology Research and Development Program ("863"Program) of China, and etc. And he was awarded the 2nd class National Scientific Technology Progress Prize, 1st class Provincial Science & Technology Awards, 2nd class Provincial Science & Technology Awards and 3rd class Provincial Science & Technology Awards.
